Client:
Midwest Baptist Conference
A church sponsored event for high school students in northern
Illinois. Over 300 students gather on the campus of Moody Bible Institute in downtown Chicago for a week to learn how to tell other
people about their faith.
Project: SLAM
Objective: Create a visual theme that communicates the theme of the event. Then apply it to all visual media.
Process: Primary to this project was developing a logo for the event. The theme was "In His Majesty's Service." After meeting with the
client it was agreed that the logo should have a medieval look that conjured images of kings and knights. With that our design team went
to work. The logo was designed and upon client approval was consistently applied to all visual media.
T-shirts were designed to utilize the primary logo on the front with elements from the logo repurposed into a seal design for the back of
the shirt. (click here to view t-shirt design)
The auditorium was decorated with banners on both side walls that contained the event logo. And powerpoint backgrounds were developed
for use during meetings.
Three videos were produced prior to the event and four videos were shot and edited on-site to support teaching during the event. The
event was kicked off with a ten minute countdown video that was a video collage of images collected from a wide variety of sources
painting the picture of Kings in a medieval setting. Street interviews were shot and produced into videos that helped presenters
communicate some important concepts to the students. Video was shot of each days events and edited into a week-in-review video that was
shown on the last night and made available to purchase as a souvenir of the event.
