Client: Immanuel (Gurnee, IL)

Project: Mission: Possible

Purpose: "Mission: Possible" was the name given to Immanuel's stewardship campaign, the goal of which was to encourage people in the church to consider how God would have them contribute to the future expansion of their newly-constructed facility.

The campaign timeframe was 1999-2002. Our goal was to produce thematic pieces that would become instantly recognizable and hold up well over the three-year timeframe, yet look distinctly different from their general correspondence.

Process: The theme naturally lent itself to a take-off of the classic "Mission: Impossible" TV show. Based on the theme's subtitle, "Eliminating Barriers to Ministry," we developed a logo incorporating Immanuel's logo with the crosshairs on a rifle, and all of our materials carried the look of spy documents and official dossiers, down to the smallest detail. This theme also lent itself easily to the use of two-color art (dark brown and deep red on cream-to-kraft colored stock) and duo-tones, which enabled us to keep printing costs at a more reasonable level than would have been possible with a theme using four-color art.

Pieces: Banners, newsletter series, stationary, program inserts, overview document, Q&A piece, bookmarks, financial commitment cards.

Placement: The banners were hung inside the church. Some pieces were distributed in meetings, while others were mailed.

The client was pleased with not only the visual look of the campaign but with the results and the response of the people within the congregation during and at the conclusion of the campaign.
